Default Beating Factions Allows Use of All NPCs Regardless of Faction

Title says it all.

It's not often I go anywhere in Cantha, and one of the main reasons I don't is due to the fact that I have to keep using and gaining faction to use the NPCs in Luxon and Kurzick territories.

Yes, it's easy to cash in 1000 faction to get a piece of amber or a jade and then gain a slight bit of faction to be able to use the necessary NPCs, but then you have to do the same if you go into the other territory.

And yes, you can just zone out of any town and use the merchants out there.

I'm thinking of mainly the other NPCs, like the materials traders, but mainly the Armor crafters.

I'd like to be able to just goto a town and look at what the offer if I'm thinking of getting something, without having to deal with gaining or losing faction to do it.

I also think the requirement of having to have beaten factions is not too much to ask for. I do believe you become a friend to both clans by the end of the game, so they should deal with you regardless.

Anyway, thats my idea.

As I recall, the Kurzicks and the Luxons only ally with each other temporarily, until the menace Shiro is defeated. After that, they go back to feuding and knocking the crap out of each other just like before, because they are just that stubborn. You, the player, or more specifically, the character that you the player control, can't actually become a friend of both sides at the same side, story-wise (yes, as per the storyline; I am fully aware that you can actually do both Befriending quests, but that is done outside of the storyline, on your own gaming time), because if you tried, you'd probably end up caught in some idiotic crossfire.

Sure, it's annoying to see that an NPC won't give you the time of day because of which side you are currently "aligned" with, but to change it would mess with the concept of the alliances. It's easy enough to map to another town, walk outside, visit the Guild Hall, or check GuildWiki for whatever you might need, so changing the way the game currently works isn't needed. It'd be convenient, but it'd make the immersion factor sink, and that'd probably tick off quite a few "hardcore" RP players. I already have enough problems with some of the RPing I see going on, and frankly, I'd rather not see an influx of angry RP to that mix.

My advice would be for you to stay out of Cantha entirely - that place is hell. Hell, I say!

Yea that NPC System is borked but I don't care because i never go in Luxon territory anyway. Faer pretty much covered it thoug, once Shiro dies the Jade & Gothic blades get turned back to the throats.

I like this idea, because storywise it makes sense that both sides, while going back to hating each other, would hopefully recognize the player as a hero that helped save all their homes.
They'd stubbornly deal with you knowing that you are neither their enemy or their enemies enemy.
Is a very good idea that I hope they change. It really can be done!

After all the accolades they showered upon me (Kurzick and Luxon), you would think (from a lore perspective), that I would be one of the few that was welcomed as a hero in all lands.

Kind of like Master Togo or Mhenlo.
